EUREKA! It just
hit me. Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is absolutely correct in his assessment of our
WAR ON TERROR. Oh wait, we can’t use that phrase anymore, our limited conflict
with those dirty, cave dwelling ragheads. Oops, can’t use that phrase either.
What I mean to say is we can no longer push around,
and push our distorted values regarding human life onto the righteous freedom
fighters. How insensitive can we possible become?! All they want is for us to
leave them alone, and die. Is that to much to ask? Maybe we should all just
drink the kool-aid and slip off to sleep.
Senator Reid has pushed for a complete withdraw of
troops from our theaters of operations; where, I might add, we are winning the
war. His plan is to have a systematic withdraw of our troops so they will all
be home and “safe” by March 2008. He says that we have lost and cannot possible
win. Even though, we are killing more bad guys than bad guys are killing good
guys (good guys = coalition troops + Iraqi civilians). Even though our
Commander in Chief has stated on many occasions that this will be a long and
drawn out conflict/war, and we are only in the beginning stages.
I have been a supporter of President Bush from the
beginning, but Harry has a good point. I will use a sports analogy for all of
you who do not have a clue about how our Armed Forces operate. If you think
back to this past February, there was this football game that was played in
Miami, Florida. The opening kick-off was returned for a touchdown, by a rookie
no less. The kicking team should have just gone back to their locker room
packed up and gone home, the game was lost. Their first play resulted in a
touchdown, how would they ever recover? Well, Tony Dungy realized that there
was still time left on the game clock and his offense had not even taken the
field of battle yet, wait, his defense hadn’t either.
The Indianapolis Colts went on to beat the Chicago
Bears, as they dominated the rest of the game.
So goes the “WAR ON TERROR”. The clock is still
running and the game can be lost. The big difference is that unlike the Super
Bowl where it was a big let down for Chicago Bear fans, a lose in the “WAR ON
TERROR” will have global ramifications. At least we Bear fans stuck around and
watched, and rooted on our beloved team. That’s more than can be said for our
so called leaders who voted to put our young men and women of the Armed Services
in harms way.
Harry Reid, John “Blue Falcon” Murtha, and a host
of other Democrats in both the House and Senate are telling our warriors that
they have lost in the opening drive of the game and should pack up and head
home.
If you frequent
ChandlersWatch.com you have more
than likely seen the videos from Pat Dollard. He was a big time Lib who, after
spending time with our brave Marines in Rhamadi, Iraq, has come to the
conclusion that we are not only winning; we are winning decisively on every
front except in the media. Recent polls have shown that the Iraqi people do not
think that they are in the midst of a civil war. The Iraqis understand that
foreign terrorists are fighting for a new base of operations.
I wonder, does Senator Reid’s’ plan work in other
areas as well? Maybe it should.
Is Harry telling Hilary to stop campaigning because
Barak has raised more money than her? You may say that it is not the same, but
it is. The similarity to the Super Bowl is that there is a time limit, primary
and general elections. The similarity to the “WAR ON TERROR” is that the fight
has just begun.
How about the “WAR ON POVERTY”? We have
been fighting and losing, so the media says, the “WAR ON POVERTY” for
over forty years. The newsman tells us that the gap between the haves’ and
have-nots’ has continually been getting larger as the years go on. If the “WAR
ON TERROR”, which we are winning, only gets four and a half years maybe it is
time to concede here as well. How many billions of dollars have we spent? How
many more billions of dollars are we going to spend?
What about the “WAR ON DRUGS”? Haven’t we
gone down this road before with alcohol?
