Cheap Lettuce II

I read a very well thought out and written article on patdollard.com by Mike Moseley titled “Cheap Lettuce”.  I agree with everything he wrote in his piece and would encourage you to read it before going on here.  You can find it at http://patdollard.com/2007/08/11/airing-now-mike-moseleys-latest-cheap-lettuce/ .  Copy and paste the link into your browser window and think about what he has to say, and be ready to take it to the next level.

It is not just about our politicians in Washington D.C. anymore.  If you follow the news you may or may not have seen stories about illegal aliens that should have been deported after being arrested and were not.  The Main Stream Media will tell the truth about some of the small crimes like identity theft, or not paying taxes. But there is much more going on than just that.  The two that stick out the most in my mind are very tragic tales that end in American citizens ending up murdered at the hands of a few of these illegal immigrants.

The left enjoys framing the argument in such a way that if you believe in enforcing American laws that are currently on the books you are a racist and a bigot.  Democrats have a way of narrowing the issue down to only one group of illegal immigrants, the Mexicans.  It is not hard to narrow the focus in this direction because it is the most visible of border issues.  The problem here is that it is not just Mexicans that are creeping through the deserts in our southwest region to look for a better life here in the United States.

Our southern border is so easy to cross that it is the one place that the media is sure to get video or pictures for their stories of whoa and suffering.  This is the preferred border for anyone coming from a country south of us to sneak in.  Anyone from South or Central America utilizes the routes through Mexico, if they do not get caught by the Mexican Military on the southern border of Mexico.  So like Mike said, it is almost as if our elected officials in our Federal Capital have gotten the impression that the citizens of Mexico have elected them.

This problem is where the problem gets bigger, and where most Americans who become victims come into contact with those that are in this country illegally.  The bigger problem is local governments, especially those supported by bleeding heart liberals.  You see the problem with illegal immigration is not the minority of those that sneak across the border.  The illegals without a criminal record and would more than likely be admitted to America legally if they had the means and the patience to wait their turn.

And yes I do believe that it is a minority of those that come here illegally.

If you look at the news that you have seen coming out of Newark, New Jersey and Phoenix, Arizona; or the news that has been hidden coming out of Milwaukee, Oregon.  These three stories that if you have not read do a Google search on your own, don’t just take my word for it, these stories are not that hard to find.

Most of you who watch any news on TV have heard something about the murders in Newark, New Jersey.  The one suspect that we have been told about is Jose Carranza.  Jose is one of the four or five that are in custody for the murder of three and attempted murder of one college students.  The students were shot at close range, execution style.  The reported motive is robbery.  I have even seen reports August 14th saying there may be links between these vicious murderers and MS 13, if you don’t know what MS 13 is please do another Google search.

We have been told about Jose because he is 28 years old.  The other three or four bad guys in custody are reportedly minors, so nothing is being reported about their circumstances or legal status.  This fine upstanding member of the shadowy illegal community is in the United States of America illegally from Peru, I’ll bet you thought I was going to say Mexico.  Once Jose made it beyond the border areas of America he was still the responsibility of our federal beauracracies, that is until he was arrested by local police departments.

You see, Jose was arrested a few times and made his way through our judicial system.  I am not so clear on which arrest came first, I’ve actually seen it reported differently in different reports.  I would hope that his first arrest was for his bar fight.  If the local governments would have enforced the laws that were legally on the books his second and more serious arrest would not have taken place.  Jose was indicted on 31 counts; the most serious was the rape of a 5 year old girl.  Now to steal a phrase from the TV Chef Emeril, BAM, he kicked it up a notch.  He is being held on the murder of three and the failed attempt on a fourth.

The incident that most Americans have not heard about, due to a reported news black out everywhere except Texas and Oregon.  It has been reported in these states because the victim was visiting Oregon from Texas.

Fifteen year old Dani Countryman was raped and murdered by two Mexican cousins, Alejandro Emeterio "Alex" Rivera Gamboa and Gilberto Javier Arellano-Gamboa   that were in the state of Oregon, as well as the U.S., illegally.  Alejandro had been arrested at least four times for DUI since 2000.  If the courts had done their job he would have only been arrested once and deported.  Young Dani Countryman would not have had her life taken while being brutally raped by these two poor hard working Mexicans just looking for a better way of life in the Land of Opportunity.

Yes, at least part of the responsibility should lie with the Federal Government.  The majority of the responsibility needs to fall where it belongs, with the municipalities that took these cretins into custody and the court systems that allowed them to remain in this country.  The state of Oregon gave the Gamboa cousins even more access and credibility, they provided them with state ID’s.  Life is not lived in the shadows when the state government gives you the lantern and batteries to stay in the well light areas of society.  Our local governments continue to take more and more of our freedoms away and tell us that it is necessary because of the few that make it imperative for them to add more laws.  Why don’t these same governments look at the immigration issue through the same prism?  It is not the hard working, poor Mexican that makes it harder and harder to live an orderly life day to day.  It is those who choose to go outside of the norm, and we have enough of those people born here naturally, we don’t need to import them.

I live in Cook County, Illinois.  Cook County is a sanctuary county.  I met a Cook County Sheriffs Deputy who told me that there are signs up in the Cook County Jail processing centers in languages other than english letting those who don’t speak english know that they cannot be asked about their immigration status.  The Left and the Main Stream Media are more than likely correct in their assertion that we don’t have the capability to deport all of those who hide in the shadows of illegally immigration, especially when our law enforcement officers are not allowed to inquire.  So there is almost no way of coming up with real numbers concerning how many illegals are actually here, let alone give them a ticket home.

Regardless of Red State or Blue State, if we don’t take our nation back we are only inviting more people like Jose, Alejandro, and Gilbert to join us here in our own back yards, living rooms or our families lives.  If you are like me you do not find this situation we find ourselves in acceptable, and I really don’t mind spending more money on lettuce, strawberries, apples or oranges.  I really don’t find them to be that cheap!
