With the sixth anniversary of terrorist
attacks on the World Trade Center being tomorrow, I found myself in
absolute shock over the partisan questions and rants while General
Petraues and Ambassador Crocker testified before Congress today. It was
as if we just went out one day and decided to pick a fight for no
reason.
Those on the left like to
constantly reminded us that the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), that
Saddam was reported to have still, have not been found. They equate the
lack of evidence as a lie from President Bush to push our nation into an
unnecessary war. Never is the fact that Saddam had fourteen months to
move the WMD’s while our State Department made the case to the United
Nations. It is all but forgotten that our previous President agreed
with the intelligence that President Bush pointed to. In fact, the
majority of the intelligence agencies of the world agreed that the Iraqi
despot not only had WMD’s, he had them stockpiled and would not hesitate
to use them.
What was the point of the
esteemed General coming to Washington? Before things even got started
Gen. Patreus and Amb. Crocker were told that no matter what they
reported it was not going to be believed. So if the Congress is not
going to believe what is said during testimony, why even waste the time
and effort to listen to what you have already judged as lies and
propaganda? The only purpose that these hearings held was to get the
Democrats spin and propaganda out.
I was absolutely shocked when
I heard Congressmen not even asking questions, just taking their
allotted time to ramble on about how evil our President is, and how
dishonorable our military leaders are. All the while saying the
obligatory “but, we do support the troops”. As if the utterance of
these words absolves you of all traitorous sins. I think not!
Your holier than thou
criticism of the Iraqi Parliament for taking a month break that if I am
not mistaken was scheduled. The House and Senate took a month off this
summer as well. They had not taken care of the business that they were
put in office to accomplish. We are repeatedly told how the change over
of majority in the House and Senate was the people overwhelmingly
speaking out about our involvement in Iraq. They even had a slumber
party so to speak to advance the perception that the Democrats were
doing everything in their power to get our Armed Forces out of Iraq.
We are still there. If the
Democrats really believed that the American people wanted to cut and
run, surrender, they would do the one thing that can be done. They
would de-fund the troops in theater and force the Commander-in-Chiefs
hand. If the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines did not have the money
to sustain our fight against Al Quada there would be no choice but to
bring them home. But the Democrats won’t do that because that is not
the will of the American people. Especially now that journalists from
the left have actually come out and admitted that if we are not winning
right at this very moment, the fight is turning around and is very
winnable. The Democrats understand that if they did what they really
could, it would only spell their demise. No White House in ’08, and the
loss of the Congress again.
Al Quada is not the Viet
Cong. They are not the North Vietnamese Army. They are ruthless
terrorists who have already reached out and touched us here at home.
Largely in part due to our previous President ignoring the signs by
choice; and through the legislation that made it impossible for our
intelligence agencies to connect the dots and stop the terrorists.
September 11, 2001 was not the first attack on America just the biggest,
most successful attack.
If we follow the logic of
Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid, and Senator Kennedy Al Quada won’t sit
down and sign a cease fire. They will see our retreat for what it
really is, a sign of weakness and cowardes. They will then do
everything in their power to capitalize on that very weakness that they
see. Not in Africa. Not in Europe. But, here on a very soil as they
have already done. I firmly believe that there are cells of Al Quada
already here. And I would be surprised if they are not ready to strike
right now. The question is: are we ready to do what is necessary to
stop them? Our Congress is not.
The last time that I looked
the uniform that General Petraues was wearing was a United States Army
uniform; he is one of the troops that the Democrats say that they
support. But, from the tone of the questions asked or the
advertisements placed in newspapers did not seem very supportive to me.
He was tasked with a job, given too little time to finish that job, and
still he accomplished more than the left thought that he could. That is
why they have to attack his report. If they cannot make the case in the
court of public opinion that it is the Evil “W’s”, Cheney’s or Karl’s
report than they lose. And they are not very good losers.
They always tell us that it is for the
children, but then act like those parents that we read about in the
news. You know the ones. The dad that gets into a fight with a Pop
Warner football referee, because they made a bad call against his kid.
Or the cheerleaders mom who kills the competition, literally, so that
her daughter can make the squad. Winning at all costs, regardless of
how you play the games is what the left is trying to teach their kids,
but they won’t admit it. They are the only people thinking about ending
the violence. But running away will not stop the violence, it will
escalate it. We are in a battle for our way of life. If we lose there
is no next fight. And if there is, it will only be harder next time.
And maybe take place in New York, or Chicago, or Los Angeles, or
Dallas. Not a good picture to dream about.
Maybe we can make this like our parents
did Social Security. Make our kids and grandkids fight the battle that
we gave up on. They won’t have a choice if they don’t want to convert
to Islam. Maybe we can give the terrorists a few more airplanes and
another 3,000 men, women, and children to slaughter here in our own
cities.
